Everyone here is got at least one eye glued to the updated forecast all day.  Today was another bad blow day, making it unfishable for the Offshore fleet!  It will be interesting to see what the offshore fishing will be like after this wind stops.  The last few blows we had were followed by explosive fishing Offshore and Nearshore.  This particular stretch of bad weather is a little different then the Tropical type weather we’ve seen this year but similiar none-the-less.  There are some boats scheduled to fish Offshore tomorrow so stay tuned to tomorrows report to see how the faired.  We are expecting a full plate of summer time Pelegic species to show up at the end of this week.

Near shore is a slightly different story with the skills of those captains allowing them to adapt to the conditions and continue to fish in Leaward positions to the land mass.  The catches are smaller but they have continued to catch good numbers of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish despite the conditions.  One really large Cobia was caught right before this wind started.

The Sound charters really did well today on some nice Speckled Trout.  One of the Captains switched to dropping large live baits in productive Trout holes.  There has also been reports of Large Flounder finally being caught in certain areas.  Hopefully when the wind shifts back to the east or northeast we will see more caught.  Large Flounder are sight feeders and depend on the clear water brought in through the Inlet, during an east or northeast wind, for them to hunt effectively.
