I can’t make this stuff up folks. Trust me I’m not that creative!  Today we had another stellar day of weather and fishing.  Looks like tomorrow we have a strong northeast blow coming for a day or two giving everyone a chance to lick their wounds and rig up tackle.  The marlin bite continued to be world class today with 42 whites, and 4 sailfish on just six offshore boats today!  On the private side there was a lot of boats out with excactly 100 white marlin, 7 sails, and 3 blue ones!  By my count that’s roughly 300 billfish caught out of this marina in the last two days!!  Several big Yellowfin Tuna were caught and quite a few wahoo were hooked but none of the wahoo were landed today.  The fishery is starting to transition some with billfish showing up more and more mixed in where the Tuna are located.  Not to mention Tuna showing up mixed in where the marlin are at.  We all have our fingers crossed that the marlin fishing in particular stays outstanding at least till the end of the month.  We can pretty well count on a world class Tuna run this fall, given it’s consistancy, and we still have that to look forward to!

If you read yesterday’s report I’m sure your wondering if the guy on crutches got to cross marlin off his bucketlist today.  He most definately did and both him and his wife had a wonderful trip today both catching a marlin!  That couple was really nice and were really excited about their accomplishment.  I took a picture of the two of them for the report.  However, we are fresh out of white marlin flags so I had them hold blue one flags for the photo Op.  Congrats to both of them and I’m sure we will be seeing them again as soon as his leg heals up!

The nearshore guys are steadily chalking up catch after catch of really nice Spanish Mackerel and a really nice class of bluefish.  Today one of the captains headed out to the 102 and caught some HUGE amberjack.  To me that’s about as exciting as a fishing trip can get after catching some delicious Spanish mackerel, going out and putting everything your forearms can handle on some giant amberjack.  We’ve got northeast winds the whole week setting things up for really good fishing for the nearshore guys.
