The Offshore fleet fished in pretty good numbers today.  We had about half the fleet fishing today and the other half at the docks discussing strategy for the upcoming Tournament.  There wasnt alot of meat caught today but it was more than made up for in billfish catches.  There were a dozen billfish caught and released today including 2 Blue Marlin, 7 white marlin, and 3 Sailfish.  The fish that were brought back to the docks were really nice fish including three citation wahoo over 40 pounds. The captains have really honed in on the Marlin bite and apparentely the billfish got the message about our upcoming tournament showing up just in time.  This coming week should be really exciting with the weather and water just right for another outstanding tournament this year.

The nearshore fleet continues to be plagued by a hard sw wind and colder than normal sea surface temps.  Today water temps were in the low 60’s in many places.  The fishing is still pretty good particularly for the captains that are able to adapt fishing in the warmer sound water edge outside the inlet.  The nearshore fleet is still finding Cobia and good Spanish Mackerel catches along with large packs of white Dotter and Blacktip sharks.  There were no full day nearshore charters today so no King Mackerel or Dolphin catches to report today on those trips.

This mornings Speckled Trout catches were really nice with many of the fish pushing the 20" mark once again.

Things are really exciting around the Marina today with so many boats arriving from all over the map.  The Burgers for Boobies fundraiser is tonight from 4-8 with the Boat decorating and costume contest starting at 6 pm.  It would be an understatement to say theres alot of excited people here!  The Alice Kelly Ladies tournament is tomorrow and theres no shortage of lady anglers here getting ready for tomorrow.  Good luck to everyone fishing tomorrow and be safe!
