Today was another fantastic day offshore for Yellowfin Tuna.  Almost every boat in the Offshore fleet caught their limit of Yellowfin. The largest I’ve seen was nearly 90 pounds. Quite a few Dolphin were landed too. Most of the boats were in fairly early but only one had limited out by the one o’clock.  Quite a few fish cleaning tickets were in the 600-700 pound range! There was a Blue Marlin spotted today but not hooked. Tomorrow’s forecast looks really ominous with a Tropical storm warning being posted by NOAA this evening.  Things have been pretty hectic here at the Marina with everyone scrambling to get everything secured and ready for any potential wind.  However, it’s looking like it will be in and out before we know it.  Looks like Saturday will hopefully be fishable.  With winds out of the Southwest Saturday and Sunday things should be ok.  Lets hope the Yellowfin don’t get too bent out of shape about this storm coming by and we can get right back onto the fish.

Inshore continues to produce limits of Spanish Mackerel and lots of Bluefish.  Lots of Cobia were seen today and caught.  But from the captains I did talk to the Cobia seemed to be less than eager to feed today.  Theres alot of factors that play a part in why some days they seem so eager to pounce on whatever you throw at them while other days you cant get them to hardly hit anything.

There is quite a few tournaments coming up starting this weekend and we want to wish all the Pirates Cove Captains the best of luck.  They usually all do really well.  Also Manteo Marine is sponsoring a Boat show here at Pirates Cove this weekend.  There should be a lot to see here this weekend besides the spectacular catches on the dock!
