We didnt have a bunch go Offshore today but the boats that did had an outstanding day.  The Yellowfin Tuna caught today were all really nice sized. Most exceeded the 40 pound mark.  There wasn’t a large variety caught today with just one wahoo to add to the Tuna catches.  The Marlin bite is really starting to turn on with boats reporting multiple hookups daily.  Today there was a Blue and White Marlin release along with a Sail.  Attached to the report are some more great shots of some Billfish in action captured by one of our private boats.  Were going through another transitional period for the Pelegics and the captains have adapted well really putting some great catches on the dock.  This week there were several meat slams along with some exciting billfish hookups.

The Nearshore fleet had a slower than average day with some Spanish caught and some Bluefish.  Several switched to bottom fishing and caught good numbers of Flounder until the tide change and grass made it inpractical.  The hard sw wind that developed after yesterday’s rain cooled down sea surface some shutting the bite down some what.  Hopefully things will improve again tomorrow and through the weekend.

The Inshore trips did outstanding on Trout again this morning.  The fish were of a little smaller class then they have been but are still outstanding eating.  Quite a few Puppy Drum are starting to show up in catches over the last few days including today.  Hopefully that will continue to improve throughout the month along with the larger Flounder catches showing up.

The Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament is right around the corner. Starting with the Alice Kelly Tourny on August 11th then the Big one starts August 12-18th.  Things are getting very exciting around here with boats from around the country and abroad arriving daily.  We will still be fishing and have quite a few boats available during the tournament.  Call us at 1-800-367-4728 or visit us at staging.pcdev.flywheelsites.com to book your trip.
