I cant express to you how unbelievable the fishing is right now. The marlin fishing is nothing less than world class. I was out myself yesterday with one of our captains and we had two anglers on board who had never caught a marlin in their lives. Before the day was over between the two of them they had 11 and could’ve easily had probably 18. This is given to the fact that they were new to such an experience and took a few tries before they were able to get it down. It was a beautiful thing to see the transition they went through. They started as rookies and before the trip was over the mate and captain had transformed them into serious marlin anglers. The first question was, "when do we put all our flags up!" They were holding their heads high when everyone smiled at them at the docks realizing that just the two of them had achieved such an amazing accomplishment. Today was just as outstanding I just got a count from charter side from a dockhand and it’s 82 white ones, 3 Blue ones (including an estimated 400 lb fish), and 3 sails! Thats on 9 boats offshore today. The private side is covered in flags too. There’s outstanding tuna fishing right now to in the other direction and one is extremely torn on what to take advantage of. It’s going to be a month to remember and this is what we live for here!
Nearshore Cobia numbers have really shot up and one of our captains caught 8 today. They also had a really good catch of spanish mackerel and blues.
