What an outstanding day to be an angler fishing with one of our Captains today.  The weather was supposed to be really calm but truly turned out to be small craft advisories and white caps. I’m guessing it’s probably a good idea for the weather folks to pick a new person to blind fold and throw darts to predict the weather.  Grandslams were reported by Offshore and Nearshore boats today.  One Offshore boat almost had a double grandslam with Tuna, Wahoo, and Dolphin along with 2 White Marlin and a massive Blue Marlin in the 500 hundred pound range.  Congrats to Steve and Kamen McIroy and the rest of their fishing party on their fantastic catch.  Other boats had really good numbers of Dolphin, Yellow and Blackfin Tuna along with really large wahoo including some over 50 pounds.  Two other BlueMarlin were caught and released and one boat lost a Bigeye estimated at almost 300 pounds after a five hour battle.  Some great catches of Tilefish were reported on an offshore wreck trip.

The Nearshore guys did outstanding today.  I spoke with one captain halfway through their trip and they had already caught Cobia, Mackerel, and nice Red Drum.  Some massive schools of Red Drum were located today with several fish caught and released exceeding 50 pounds.  The Spanish Mackerel bite was really good today and with so much bait around fish were feeding heavily Nearshore.
