Today’s forecast was calling for it to turn pretty ugly this afternoon.  Having said that, the offshore fleet did their best to get into the fish before today’s front moved in. If I had to pick a word to describe today’s catches it would certainly be "Big"… The first boat to report in was back at the dock by 1 pm with a really nice limit of Yellowfin Tuna.  One of which was a Citation weighing almost 80 pounds. The rest of the offshore fleet did extremely well on Yellowfin Tuna in particular.  Several Citations were caught.  There were a few Wahoo and Dolphin caught as well.  The most exciting catch of the day was a 245 pound Bigeye.  It was the first Tuna ever caught by the Angler that landed it.  I’m sure saying it exceeded expectations would be an understatement.  The day started really nice and winds really picked up in the afternoon with a significant temperature drop.

The inshore guys did extremely well on Blues and Spanish Mackerel this morning.  They started the morning in search of Cobia but because of an overcast they weren’t able to sight fish for them. There was some really large Speckled Trout caught this morning some in the 20"-24" class.  Really nice to see such quality fish.  It looks like the holiday weekend is going to be really nice I look forward to seeing how things pan out with so many fishing trips planned.  We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!
