The Alice Kelly results are in! Congratulations to all of the lady anglers that fished yesterday, with an extra pat on the back to Doris Weatherly on the Double B with the largest dolphin and Dana Burlage on the Seaclusion with the largest tuna! Our top 3 lady anglers were Kaitlyn O’Connor on the Hindsight in first with a blue marlin, Summer Bracher on the Pelican in second with a sailfish, and Tara Avant on the Salty Squirrel in third also with a sail. The top boat in the tournament was the Tarheel (Capt. John Bayliss), followed by the Desperado (Capt. Rob Barker) in second and the Release (Capt. Rom Whitaker) in third. Great job everyone! Registration for the 29th Annual Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament started at 3pm this afternoon and is open until 9pm tonight. We had great nearshore fishing today with dolphin and tuna on a full day trip as well as a ton of spanish mackeral on a half day trip.
Our offshore fleet went out today, some charters and some getting in gear for the tournament! We had over 70 dolphin caught today as well as several tuna – one was a whoppoing 85 pounds!, a 54 pound wahoo, and a sailfish!!
