Today was the Alice Kelly ladies tournament and every single boat in our offshore fleet had six ladies on board showing our captains how to fish properly.. We had 59 total boats fishing the tournament today and the weather couldn’t have been better with sunny skies and light sw winds all day. We don’t have a declared winner yet but from the captains I’ve spoken with, from our fleet, every boat had a bill fish or two with a scattered Tuna and some Dolphin caught. We should have some updates on the site tonight and I will break everything down in full in tomorrow’s report. We have quite a few make ups for offshore and Inshore for this coming week. If you want us to pair you up with some other anglers with our make ups or book a charter please let us know as soon as possible, in that, so many boats will be fishing the big tournament this week.
We did have a Nearshore boat fish today and they wreckfished catching some nice sea bass. There is alot of warmer offshore water trying to push into the beach just off the coast setting up quite a color change and holding a lot of fish. The winds are supposed to turn back to the NE later this week and the water and fishing should really be spectacular.
We are certainly blessed with some of the most experienced (and entertaining) captains in the country. Several have made it on some top 50 lists for top captains in the country. It’s always good when they are fishing in some of the other large tournaments around the world and we get to see their name’s on the leader boards. Our very own Capt. Charlie Perreira just finished his new beautiful 57′ Sushi and decided to break it in properly winning first place in the Tuna category up in Ocean City at the White Marlin Open. Also our very own Capt. Bull Tolsen capt of the Sea Toy tied for 2nd for White Marlin in the same tournament. Congrats guys and good luck this week.
