With the Offshore fishing being so good the last few weeks, one’s expectations can get pretty high. Today was a little slower than the excitement of the last week.  However, it was a pretty good day by most standards.  Almost every boat caught Yellowfin Tuna and Dolphin.  Some of the offshore boats decided to mix it up and do some bottom fishing after catching some Pelegics. They caught limits of Tiles and Black Sea Bass. There was a Blue Marlin Released today. We’ve been anticipating more Billfish releases or at least sightings in the spreads.  A few were released last week. I hope to report a lot more in the coming week or so. If this year turns out anything like last year, we have alot to look forward too!

Inshore continues to produce really outstanding catches of Speckled trout and decent catches of Puppy Drum when they can be located.  In the Spring the Puppy Drum can be hit or miss. But if you can locate a school the fishing can be tremendous.  Yesterday one of our Inshore boats decided to capitalize on the recent opening of the Black Sea Bass fishery.  They came home with one of nicest catches of Sea Bass I can remember.  Several were over 3 pounds and some in the 4 pound range.  It looks like the recent long closure on that fishery is really going to pay off for our Nearshore guys. Black Sea Bass have to be in the top 3 best tasting fish in the sea and there price per pound certainly reflects that!  Tight Lines……..
