The pavilion was filled with people registering for the tournament today and things were pretty hectic around the Marina.  We did have quite a few boats fish today offshore.  The word of the day was definately billfish with flags flying all the way down charter dock.  There were 13 white Marlin released today and 2 Blue Marlin.  All the captains I spoke to saw billfish everywhere and some had 4 hookups at once.  I saw a video of one of the Blue Marlin during the fight.  She was in the 380 lb range and put on an amazing show for the anglers tail walking and grey hounding right behind the boat.  The ocean was slick calm today and the fish could easily be spotted coming up in the spread causing quite a rush for everyone on board.  There wasn’t a lot of meat brought in today for obvious reasons but there were some Dolphin including a 40 lb fish  and Tile fish caught by those who weren’t specifically targetting Marlin.  The forecast looks great this week and with the billfish bite turning on now, it should be quite an exciting tournament.

The Nearshore fleet did well today and got into a good bluefish bite with some Spanish Mackerel mixed in.  Quite a few large Cobia were spotted today leading to some exciting moments but none were hooked.  The water really starting heating up today with temps around 80 degrees in some spots just offshore.
