Today was another great day of fishing for the offshore guys but the catches were suprisingly different.  The weather was ideal today with light and variable winds.  However, there were a few squalls that most boats had to contend with first thing this morning.  Apparently the marlin fishing here isn’t much of a secret because there were quite a few boats out there today.  We had 41 boats fishing out this marina alone.  Today wasn’t an explosive day on the billfish counts but numbers like 8, 10, and 12 with a few boats sporting 3 and 4 flags seems to be the story of the day.  There was a lot of sailfish and Blue ones caught and released too. I haven’t got a full count yet but the marina definately should be breaking the 100 mark again on billfish releases.  The fishing was a lot different today in many ways.  Although a lot of Marlin were caught they were not as active and none were seen cutting or on baitballs.  The bonus today was Dolphin everywhere.  Almost every boat had at least a few and several limits were caught.  Boats that went looking for Tuna found a really good tide line and got the limits of dolphin.  There wasn’t very many Tuna caught with up to 5 reported on one boat.  We’ve got a big front coming through tonight and we are expecting a bunch of rain tonight.  But tomorrow looks like another good one for the offshore guys with another good forecast tomorrow.

The nearshore fishing was outstanding today with everything from Triggerfish to False Albacore caught this morning.  There were as many bluefish as you could possibly want.  Our fish cleaners worked really hard today starting with Triggers and ending with Dolphin.

I feel like it’s July 4th weekend or tournament week here right now.  The Tiki hut outside is filled with happy folks and eager wives watching the lines of high end boats working their way down the channel.  The dock crews have been working till late all week making sure everyone is fueled and iced for the next day’s adventure.  To think we’ve still got one of the world’s best Yellowfin Tuna runs still ahead of us!  We’ve got another exciting week ahead of us and if you want in call us at 1-800-367-4728 or visit us at staging.pcdev.flywheelsites.com and we’ll take care of the rest!  Take care and have a great weekend!
