Flags continue to fly up and down outriggers for the nearshore fleet. Despite so many of our boats heading up to fish in the Va beach billfish tourny we still had some offshore boats out today.  There were 28 whites, 3 Sails, and 1 Blue one on the charter side today with countless more flying above our private fleet.  The Dolphin bite was really good today also with more than 30 caught on some boats.  I only saw one Wahoo today but it was pushing the 50 pound mark.  Right now is one of the magic times of year that makes the outerbanks a world class fishery.  There is is few places on earth where you can tell your anglers that they will likely catch and release over a dozen marlin each day.  Between that and the countless other runs of different species we have throughout the year there is just about always some kind of amazing fishing to get in on.

The Nearshore fleet did well today.  The full day charters continue to produce the best results.  Today they caught big numbers of nice amberjacks, Blues, and Spanish Mackerel.  Quite a few Dolphin and even some White Marlin have been caught by them throughout the week.  The Mackerel bite in particular had slowed somewhat for the last 2 weeks.  After the winds finally shifted from the sw and allowed the warm offshore water to push in, things really picked up.  In the last few days Cobia sightings have increased dramatically, especially large fish with several fish over the 60 mark seen.  These fish are the intellegent ones that are diffucult to both hook and especially land.  Hopefully we will see some giant Cobia brought in over the next week or so.

Speckled Trout and Puppy drum are being caught in big numbers by our inlet guide with a limit brought in on both trips today.
