A low pressure system developed to the south of us and decided it would throw a stick in everyone’s plans.  The inlet was a rollercoaster on the way out this morning and most of those not in contention for the tournament decided to turn around and call it a day.  All the scorecards haven’t been turned in yet and the winner’s will be announced tonight at the awards presentation at 9:30 pm.  It was extremly rough today and the offshore fleet couldn’t make more than 12kts-15kts on the way to the fishing grounds.  Once they arrived and began to fish the billfish bite continued to be outstanding with over 60 fish released today despite the conditions and only a fraction of the boats fishing today.  Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for things to calm down as the day progresses.

Nearshore only one boat headed out and caught good sized sea mullet and some really nice flounder.  Clear water is pouring into inlet at every high tide with the wind at its back.  The inlet area should be gorgeous this weekend leading to some great fishing for all those sight feeders.  Sunday in particular should be really nice as long as the rain holds out.

Stay tuned for all the updates from the tournament! We still have great tournament items online along with tons of other great stuff! Visit us at staging.pcdev.flywheelsites.com or call us at 1-800367-4728.
