Just when you think that everything is going perfectly Andrea shows up.  It seems uncanny how Mother Nature shows her bad side whenever things are going too well.  But it would seem that we really dodged a bullet with this storm. Once everyone realized that it was inevitable that Andrea would be paying us a visit, all we could hope for is for her to be gentle and quick.  So far thats been the case.  Today winds were really gusty here and it rained pretty hard at times. But besides some knocked over patio furniture and canceled fishing trips it’s been just another day on the Outer Banks!  We’re looking forward to seeing what the fishing will be like over the next few days.  The fishing Offshore and Inshore has been so good we are all keeping our fingers crossed for more good things to come.  We will probably see a drop in sea surface temperatures along the coast because of this hard southwest wind. But believe it or not things could take a turn for the positive after this storm.  You have to look at the bigger picture and realize that despite things being bad here, this storm just made its way up the entire southern coast.  All the fisheries to the south were effected too.  Hopefully that will lead to another banner week with so many Offshore species still yet to make it this far north.

Tomorrow’s forecast doesn’t look great but we do have some Captain’s and Anglers gearing up to try and fish tomorrow if conditions will allow them to.  Tackle and equipment were pushed to the max over the last few weeks with the Tuna fishing being so good in particular.  Today gave everyone a good oppurtunity to catch up on some much needed prep work.

Manteo Marine is holding it’s first annual boat show here at Pirates Cove this weekend. With the weather being less than desirable at least everyone will have a good opportunity to come down and take a look at some nice boats.  The Pirates Cove Ships Store will be open for shoppers throughout the entire boat show too.

Quite a few of our Captains are heading south to fish the Big Rock tournament.  We all hope they do well and look forward to hopefully seeing them on the leader boards!  The phone has been ringing a bunch today with bookings but we still have boats and makeup trips available call us at 1-800-367-4728 or visit us at staging.pcdev.flywheelsites.com and we will take care of the rest!  We hope everyone stays safe and stay tuned for the fleet to get back on the water!
