Today the winds really picked up!  Winds were SW 15 to 20 with gusts to 25.  Despite that we had a large number of boats Offshore today in search of the bite.  Things weren’t easy to say the least but almost everyone did really well Catching good numbers of Yellowfin Tuna or Dolphin.  No Billfish to report today.  Everyone looked beat today at the booking desk all day. There were nothing but smiles on those wind weathered faces though.  The Captain’s had to really struggle to fish today trying to stay on the good water and keep the boats filled with fish.  It’s been spoiling everyone with the fishing being so good lately.  Today’s wind and weather helped remind everyone why an experienced Captain is so vital to bringing large numbers of fish back to the docks day after day.  We’ve got quite a few people on our Makeup list with no boats available through at least tommorrow.  All the Captains have one eye on the weather and were hoping to get some Anglers on some makeups by Saturday.

The Nearshore fleet had a slower than normal day today so many of them switched up tactics and fished for Bottom fish to fill the coolers.  The one’s that did caught some really nice sized Sea Mullet along with some assorted other Bottom fish.  This front should move through super quick and we will have much more to report as it passes through.  The first week in July is a super busy week for us here at the Marina.
