Alot of excitement here at the Marina today.  The Annual Dare County Boat Builders Tourny started today and things are exciting around here to say the least.  Several of our Captains were fishing in the tournament today.  Two of them are leading the Tournament after the first day!  Today’s offshore catches were really good with everyone bringing in double digit numbers of Dolphin, including some large Bulls exceeding 30 pounds.  Most boats brought good numbers of Yellowfin Tuna with some catches of more than a dozen Tuna along with Dolphin.  One White Marlin was released today by young Micah Harlan from Va Beach, Va.  He was grinning ear to ear while describing the fight the Marlin put up for him.  The fish was most likely double his size so he definately deserved the Citation and all the pats on the back at the booking desk.  I have a feeling we will be seeing him again for years to come.  Congrats Micah!

The Nearshore fleet had to contend with a heavy sw wind today and made the most of it by continuing to catch good numbers of Spanish Mackerel and some Cobia.  Really large schools of big drum are starting to show up within reach of the Inlet and hopefully in the next two weeks we will have some exciting action from some giant Drum.

In the sound the Inshore fishing is still RED HOT with limits of really good size Trout being caught on almost every trip.
